GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 - TECHNOLOGY DESIGN
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 features a scene in which genetically engineered children play a telepathy conditioning game aboard the High Evolutionary's ship. Working within Perception's creative direction, I developed the concept for the game itself — its rules, logic, and the visual language of the hologram system connected to the children's headpieces. The imagery was grounded in what the children would have encountered aboard the ship: industrial objects, later expanded to include organic forms the High Evolutionary might have introduced.
The holograms were designed and built in Cinema 4D and After Effects, flickering and shifting color depending on whether a guess was correct or incorrect. Multiple directions were explored before landing on the final look that appears in the film.
