MAXON ONE CINEMATIC TOOLSET SHOWCASE
Maxon commissioned Perception to create a cinematic launch film for the Maxon One toolset — Cinema 4D, ZBrush, Red Giant, and Redshift. Rather than a straight product demo, the piece was built as a sci-fi short: an alien character sculpted, textured, and brought to life by the tools themselves, with a second narrative running underneath about a being gaining sentience.
I had the opportunity to join the project at the concept stage, contributing to early direction explorations, platform design, and the visual language of the piece. Working alongside Perception's creative team, the development went through multiple iterations before the final direction locked in.
From there I worked on animation across multiple sequences in Cinema 4D, following the creative direction of the team as the piece evolved from early animatic through to final cut. The alien sculpt was handled by ZBrush artist Ian Robinson, with UI and rendering handled separately by the studio.
